Statistical analysis is one kind of analytical service, and it is strictly a quantitative procedure. Although data that began life as qualitative, such as text, can be analyzed using statistics, it has to be transformed into quantitative data first. At a general level, there are two main reasons to conduct statistical analysis: to draw inferences from patterns you find in the data and to know how confident you can be in the results.
