Join the Dots Launches New Online Community Tools

To mark the start of its twentieth year, Join the Dots has launched two new additions to its fifth generation online community platform.

The first, ‘Scout’, is a tool designed to collect photo, video and web content which inspire consumers in-the-moment. Its key applications are in shopper / purchase journeys, customer experiences, product testing and segmentation / lifestyle research.

“The emphasis is very much about capturing rich photo and video content over the traditional text-based discussion forums” said Andy Buckley, Innovations Director at Join the Dots.

“Designing research tools that mimic how people naturally share and communicate with each other is at the heart of our people-centred research philosophy. In this instance Scout reflects how people use tools like Instagram to share photo and video content rather than using traditional online forums.”

New tool ‘Project’ enables us to create pop-up communities within an existing online community. Project has been designed for co-creation, agile research, deep dives and expert or niche audience research. Buckley commented: “This exciting tool gives our clients greater flexibility than ever before. We can deliver all the benefits of a large community panel with the added ability to create intimate, collaborative spaces when required.”

Join the Dots provides consumer insight to their clients through a combination of rigorous primary research and the latest thinking in psychology, behavioural economics and consumer trends.

Formed in 1998, Join the Dots boasts a multi-national portfolio of clients including British Airways, GSK, Diageo, Unilever, Nationwide, The Co-operative and the BBC.
