Germany/ Karlsruhe, October 23rd, 2012 – cluetec, the specialist for software solutions in the area of mobile market research based in Germany, is introducing a new product for direct customer surveys: mQuest ® direct response. The QR-code controlled tool makes it possible to carry out spontaneous and immediate market research directly at the point of interest or point of sale. The participants only need to scan a QR-code with their smartphone to start the survey. The results are then available online to the client in real-time.
Increasing numbers of smartphone owners in Germany and Europe use QR-codes to call up for example product or event information. A current study by ComScore Inc. has shown that the number of mobile users tracked by ComScore in Europe that have scanned in a QR-code has risen 96 percent to 17.4 million.
The ease of use and the current widespread use of QR-codes has now prompted cluetec to launch a customer survey tool, in the form of mQuest ® direct response, which makes direct and spontaneous customer or participant surveys possible for the purpose of market research. In principle it can be used everywhere: at the point of interest, point of sale or in other areas where spontaneous and immediate feedback from customers is of great interest, for example at events, seminars, in hotels or in shopping malls. The surveys can be carried out online with all standard smartphone browsers and can be started by simply scanning a QR-code or through entering a short URL. This makes it possible to address target groups that are particularly specific or difficult to reach and who do not normally take part in surveys due to their work situation as they are committed to a certain time schedule. The results are immediately available online to the client.

Due to their simple and fast application, QR-codes enable cost-effective recording of large random sampling. The information contained in the QR-code ensures the user is directly guided to a web-based survey based on mQuest ® technology. The survey can be started on every smartphone and tablet PC found on the market, completely independent of location, provided online access is available. The layout of the survey is automatically adjusted according to the browser used and the size of the display to optimally meet the requirements of the participants’ end device. No other preinstalled apps are necessary to carry out the survey, which serves to support the ease of use and the user friendliness.
